With ever-increasing sustainability demands, building maintenance is the process that will become the most important in the building's life cycle in the future.
The aim of the book is to develop a methodology that will become the basis in the decision-making process for the selection of the material solution of building structures. The proposed methodology was applied to the Administrative Building for three variants of the material design of the perimeter construction. For each variant, Facility Management documents (Process Sheets, Maintenance Manual) were processed. The calculation determined the determinants of the economic life cycle indicators of the building, which are an effective basis for deciding on the material solution of building structures of the building.
Currently, a significant trend in the construction sector is the sustainability of a quality environment. Assuring sustainability is the longest possible lifetime of building structures. An effective tool for extending service life is planned maintenance during the building use phase. This can be influenced at the building design stage by selecting a building solution material solution. By selecting the material solution at the design stage, future maintenance costs can be greatly influenced. The determining factors in their selection are: the investment costs of building construction, maintenance costs and heating costs.
The university textbook extends knowledge from building maintenance and facility management. This knowledge is intended for students of several study programs at first and second level studies at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of various universities. The knowledge can also be used by students of various courses, training courses and seminars. The textbook deals with the modelling of maintenance costs of building structures by application of facility management.
